Chairperson’s Report

ANECCC domestic Championship – Dates for 24th and 25th May have clashed with the Jim Clark Rally for Tynemouth and it isn’t possible for them to swap with CDMC, TDMC have said they don’t have the ‘manpower’ therefore will not be running any Autocross events this season. DW contacted all Clubs with reference to dates and S.O.S.C.C. 22/6/08 no longer going ahead due to them not being able to secure a venue, B.E.C.C. have no venue for this date either, B.D.M.C. 27/6/08 and 7/9/08 in question also for venues, they cant find any land available until the week commencing 21/9/08. B.E.C.C. can run an event on 21/9/08 but have no field, B.D.M.C. offered B.E.C.C. a field for 21/9/08. New revised dates for 2008 season are as follows:-

April 6th C.D.M.C. 20th A.D.M.C.

May 4
th C.D.M.C. 18th A.D.M.C.

June 8th C.D.M.C.

July 13th A.D.M.C.

August 23rd & 24th Double Header C.D.M.C.

September 7th B.D.M.C.?? 21st B.E.C.C.

October 5th C.D.M.C. or B.E.C.C. Finals

If only 10 X rounds there will be no dropped rounds (regulations point 9).

Regulations have been sent out already, the permit no for the season is CHS208/055(E).

Championship Sponsor for the 2008 season is “Owlet Car Sales”, programmes and banners are being organised at present.

DW has received a Draft Copy of the M.S.A. British Autocross Championship regulations, which he read to members explaining classifications. Members were given the opportunity to read them and DW clarified queries regarding results, classifications etc. A regional Steward was asked for and Iain Huitson kindly offered his services, Colin Salkeld will be the M.S.A. Scruitineer for the British Autocross Championship. The cost of Registration for this is £30.00 per competitor.

Treasurer’s Report

We still have monies outstanding for the 2007 season from 4A Windscreens, KB Autoparts, Quayside Cars equalling £300.00. The Championship helped C&D.M.C. by loaning them £298.36 as their change of Committee meant they couldn’t access funds until signatories at the bank had been checked, this has now been paid back to the Championship with thanks. 20/2/08 we had 10 registered competitors and the balance standing on 11/2/08 was £5984.61. £500.00 paid out for Dinner Dance deposit, £34.00 paid out to M. Wellden for stamps to post out registration forms etc. Trackside Sponsor banners are £125.00 each this season.

Co-ordinator’s Report

We have 21 Registered Competitors to date. Everyone should now have registration forms either emailed or posted out to them, if anyone hasn’t received theirs let MW know and she will sort it for you.

Secretary’s Report

The Presentation Dinner Dance has been booked for the end of 2008 season, it is going to be held at the Marriott Gosforth Park Hotel on 22nd November tickets will be £25.00 per person and no concessions due to the reduced rate in registration fees this season.

Coming Events

The first event of the season will be organised by C&D.M.C. on 6th April, the field is just behind the ‘Oak Inn’ pub and will be checked for suitability by C&D.M.C. officials this week.

A.O.B.

  • Trackside banners will be staked into the ground with spikes attached to 2x2 posts. It is felt the banners are better advertised standing individually rather than grouped together, this is felt to be needing updating appropriately for the season, it takes along time to put out the banners, we need amore manageable strategy as the banners have proven to be very popular. A long discussion took place regarding advertising exploring many avenues.

  • Website is looking good, DW said IH had done a fantastic job organising the layout, images etc. Iain not that happy with it at present and is preparing to change it for the better as lots of people have said they cant access the full screen therefore cant get on the Forum. There are other Association links on for the others within the British Championship.

  • It was suggested we use ‘tubes’ instead of cones for penalty markers – the Blue Book states they need to be different heights and colours to track markers. It is felt to be a Club issue and they are able to choose what they prefer as long as it corresponds with Blue Book. The Championship Committee has no jurisdiction over this matter.
